education in Architecture at an undergraduate level and students with

Eligibility for Indian Nationals:
The candidate seeking admission in the Architecture
course must have passed 10+2 or equivalent higher secondary/ pre-university
examinations in the science group of any recognized University/Board with
Mathematics as a subject of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks. The candidate
with a good academic background in physics and mathematics is better suited for
the study of Architecture, as the work involves complex designing problems,
building economies and cost estimations. It is mandatory for every
Architectural Institution imparting 5-year B. Arch degree course in the country
to join the NATA and to admit students on the basis of valid NATA marks. To

Eligibility for NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indianworkers in the Gulf countries, Foreign Nationals:
The candidates who have qualified from the foreign
boards, universities and recognized institutions as deemed equivalent by the
AIU shall be considered. An NRI is eligible if she has studied abroad for five
years in the last eight years of the stay and has passed the required
qualifying examination from the country.

The Candidate should have passed the HSC or its
equivalent examination with Mathematics and obtained at least 50% marks in
aggregate,
or

Candidate should have passed Full-time Diploma (10+3)
examination recognized by All India Council for Technical Education or Central
or State Government or its equivalent examination and obtained at least 50%
marks in aggregate. Any other criterion declared by appropriate authority from
time to time.
Fee structure:
The government aided institutes has a very nominal fee
structure. The fee structure of such institute is between INR 160,000-230,000
(The US $ 2400 – 3500 approx). In the case of the private institute, the fee
structure varies from institute to institute and it is between INR
200000-350000 (The US $ 3000 – 5300 approx). These fee structures are exclusive
of all other expenses of students like hostel, library etc. The fee charges for
diploma course is lesser and it is between INR 130000- 200000 (The US $ 2000 –
3000 approx). Scholarships are being offered to unprivileged meritorious
students. Government aided institutes also provide scholarships for the
top-ranked students.
Funding/ Scholarship:
60 National Overseas Scholarships are offered to students
belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Denotified Nomadic and
Semi-Nomadic Tribes, etc. US$6,600 per year is the amount which is paid to
qualified candidates doing the Masters. However, Ph.D. candidates can get the
US $7,700 per year. There are other scholarships which are being offered to
unprivileged meritorious students in various government aided institutes.
Besides toppers, candidates who top in entrance exams conducted by the private
institutes receive attractive discounts in fees. Education loans are available
to students from nationalized banks and private banks at attractively
low-interest rates.
Job Prospects
Architects can work with construction companies wherein
they are asked to serve as a designer. Initially, an architect is expected to
understand specific requirements of clients and strike a right balance between
aesthetics and practicality. Additionally, an architect with skills can help
clients by his ideas in terms of balancing the requirements of appearance,
financial budget, and time frame. Some architects even work independently and
earn their livelihood through consultancy fees which entirely depends upon the
skills and profile as well as work experience. Architects working independently
